How I made this 💖🌸 I’ve done composite ph How I made this 💖🌸 I’ve done composite photography for many budget-constrained employers & clients, so I wanted to explore how AI can streamline / enhance that process. This reel summarizes the steps. Check the comments to find the prompts I used for the 2 model images + the florals. All were generated with Midjourney v5 and edited / composited with Photoshop. I recently hosted a workshop to introduce curious creatives to the wonders of visual AI tools. To show how image prompts work, I used a favorite photo of my charismatic grandma. It’s fun to see her multiply — the world needs more sassy, stylish nanas. 💞 AI doesn’t translate text literally, so the original saying from her t-shirt-turned-mini-dress was composited with Photoshop. It’s International Woman’s Day and I want to r It’s International Woman’s Day and I want to remind everyone that aging is a privilege, an inevitability, and a helluva lot better than the alternative. 💀 Swipe to see a visualization of how beauty embraces the decades. For this character study, a lot of tinkering was required — generative AI is not inherently biased, it simply reflects the societal bias toward youth and beauty (among other things). I suspect AI will get smarter at a pace much faster than humanity… So today’s PSA for older women is this: Please stop telling younger women that getting old sucks — it perpetuates bias among women. For those who may not know, from the mid-eighties to 1999 I worked for Brøderbund Software as an artist, animator, creative director, executive producer, and ultimately VP of product development for the Kids Studio. Alongside many talented people, I contributed to some of the most iconic “edutainment” and PC game titles. We devoured new technologies, like the pre-Adobe version of Photoshop and digital animation tools developed for the film industry, and used them to push the boundaries of what was possible at the time. As passionate creators, the bonds we formed were strong, and many of us remain connected. After a recent art exhibit outing with some of the Brøderbund creative gals (where I talked their ears off about generative AI), I got inspired to visualize what Carmen would look like if she aged (beautifully, of course) like those of us who helped create her. For me, it beautifully reflects how aging and life experience only enhances our instincts and empathic nature. I find my instincts are best honed through the accumulation of knowledge — the longer I live the more acting instinctively becomes second nature, the better I am at reading people, and the more determined I am to engage with good people in meaningful ways.
